NAVY IS THE NEW BLACK
Navy!!! Everyone needs a little navy in their life. It's a classic color that never goes out of style. Like I said previously, it is a color that reflects Americana and has been a design staple for centuries. What I'm loving about navy in 2017 are the different shades available, going big and bold, dark and dramatic or bright and light.
I decided to take a look at the new location of The Red Poppy in Evansville. I was blown away with the new space, and her obsession with NAVY throughout the store. I had to capture a few pictures of my favorite Navy items displayed. Trust me she had many, many more amazing items in this fabulous store, but Navy was by far the focus. I can't wait to come back and check out all of the wonderful finds this store has to offer.

This vanity is one of my all time favorite Navy colors, Gentleman's Grey! Love, Love how this vanity turned out. I designed the renovation for this job, but my amazingly talented client found this color and painted this vanity herself. You go Emily Yaeger, great job!
This blue room is everything!! Ted and Lisa Ziemer came up with this fabulous idea of painting everything blue. I love, love, love this room. It is one of my top 5 favorite spaces. They used Gale Force from Sherwin Williams, which is a dark classic Navy. They complimented the look with a bold, and beautiful plaid carpet and a retro purple/berry colored sofa. Everything about this room works!
These books are everything! What an amazing collection of the classics, that also adds color and dimension to this blue room.
The Ziemers also used navy in their son's adorable bathroom. This vanity is in Down Pour Blue by Sherwin Williams,. This isn't your traditional dark Navy, but a great option if you don't want to go too dark. They paired the vanity with a retro style Kohler wall mount sink and classic subway tile, such a fun bathroom.
Finally we have Brad and Jessica Williams' vanity, also in Down Pour Blue. This must be the color of the year for Evansville. You wouldn't think this vanity was the same color as the vanity above, but indeed it is. Jessica's bathroom is a little dark, so using a dark navy would look black. I think she did a fabulous job choosing this color. I had my cabinet maker build her this beautiful vanity, which goes perfectly with the gorgeous Greige octagon tile.
Below are some amazing examples of great ways to use Navy:
